Community Living camp report

1.INTRODUCTION
The Community Living camp, a compulsory activity of second-year B.Ed program was held on March 30 to April 5 in St. Jacob's Training College, Menamkulam. The theme of the camp was " EDUCATION: IT'S CREATIVE AND SOCIAL ASPECTS". In our fast-paced world of technology, camps expose young people to a different kind of environment a community based atmosphere in which campers learn about living, working and playing together. In addition, campers typically learn a healthy respect for nature. The life skills that many youth experience at camp help them to form thinking patterns that depict the type of adults they will become. Living in a camp prepare youth to be positive contributors to their communities. The camp provides ample opportunities to fine tune with the interpersonal relationship skills of the campers through the process of group dynamics.
Objectives of the community living camp
1. To develop an understanding of the need for learning to live together.
2. To create an awareness of health and wellness among student teachers.
3. To develop the self and mutual adjustment among student teachers.
4. To develop an awareness about the nurturing of learned capabilities.
5. To develop an awareness about the importance of aerobics in day to day life situations.
6. To make teaching – learning simple and life – oriented.
7. To develop an understanding of the psychological factors in making teacher - effectiveness.
8. To provide a practical awareness on the role of counselling and its effectives,
9. To understand the role played by community towards the socially disadvantaged and the mentally challenged students.
10. To provide practical experience in the preparation of socially useful productive works.
11. To broaden the mental horizon of student teachers.
12. To develop social, cultural and educational values among the prospective student teachers.

SECTION WISE DETAILS
DAY-1 (30/03/2022)
         The first day of the camp began on 30th March 2022 with the registration process of  Aramam Group. 
           Our assembly started with prayer song by Sneha, Archana and me. Athira welcomed the gathering with her inspirational words. 
        After the assembly the inauguration of the camp, started at 9.30 am and the welcome speech addressed by the student coordinator Sr. Steffy Cleetus. Presidential address was done by Dr.Albaris, the principal of our college. The guest were warmly introduced by our student union adviser Dr.Elizabeth Samuel. The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Jacob Mathew the former principal of G J E, Thycaud. 
            The second session began with a class by Mr. Paul Joseph on the topic"An Eye-opening session on social schema".
In the afternoon the Crimson group conducted "tresure hunt" at 2.pm followed by "Zumba fitness" of an external trainer Mr. Sharan conducted by Castellon group.
DAY -2 (31/03/2022)
             On the second day the program committee was Flemigo group. The assembly commenced at 9am with prayer followed by thought for the day, camp news etc.
               After assembly we went to visit the school in Anchuthengu at Poothura. There we had interaction with the school students. In the afternoon we had game and activity session with phisical education master Mr. Thomas Bennet.
                 At 3pm we went out for site seeing to Anchuthengu fort and Muthalapozhi beach.
DAY-3 (01/04/2022)
                 At 5.am all woke up. After that all got set for yoga and meditation followed by Holy Mass and breakfast. After assembly we went to again Anchuthengu for house visiting to find out their problems and to conduct survey.
                   After lunch we had a discussion with the authority members of this village. The day ended at 3.30pm.
DAY -4 (04/04/2022)
                   We the group Crimson were the program committee of this day. The assembly began at 9.am by Castellon group. After assembly we had an interactive session with Mrs. Divya.C is a recipient of best teacher educator National award. 
                  The second session conducted by Mr. Jayadhar.G and the topic presented by him was ' A journey through creative and vocational value of education '. In the afternoon Flemigo group conducted the game 'film enacting and our group Crimson won the game and the day ended with tea break.
DAY -5 (05/04/2022)
                    It was the last day of our camp started with prayer. The chief guest of the day was Abhilash Mohanan, the managing editor of Reporter TV, who came to inaugurate the college union of 2022.                               After union inauguration program we had an interactive session with Dr.P.Balashankar Mnnath and the topic which he took the 'Personality development through art'. 
                     After the lunch break we had the program by Triangle band which formed with a vision to express themselves through their music and it ended at 3pm.
                     The main session of this day was 'Valedictory ceremony 'and the camp ended at 4.pm.
